Tickets are on sale now for our upcoming Celtic Solstice Celebration at The Birchmere, featuring the full-bore, electric 8-piece OCEAN ORCHESTRA with singers from the WASHINGTON REVELS and many fabulous surprise guests!! On Tuesday night, December 27th, we will rock the Birchmere once again with our celebration of the national release of our CD, Song of Solstice.
Those of you who remember the always-sold-out New St. George / Revels holiday concerts at the Birchmere on Boxing Day (December 26th) will have some idea what’s in store… the rest of you will be bowled over by the sheer, boisterous magnitude of it all! Imagine an evening of OCEAN’s signature Celtic folk-rock, interspersed with singers from the Washington Revels performing medieval Spanish and Sephardic song…. Throw in a Mummer’s Play, and possibly a brand new dance by the Foggy Bottom Morris Men… a special guest appearance by long-time Boston Globe folk music writer Scott Alarik reading a passage from his new novel Revival, and a host of the fabulous musicians that guested on Song of Solstice. There is no other holiday concert like it in all these 50 states… and we know of at least one fan who is traveling up from North Carolina for the show!
